It suddenly just dawned on me that Chris Jericho is still the ROH World Heavyweight Champion despite the fact him having the belt doesnt elevate ROH at all. If he cant do it, why do any of the ROH belts exist at all

Max does not want the ROH library

Tony has all these ROH belts that he cant do anything with and a whole ass seperate library that Zaslav is not interested in

TNA is receiving funding from WWE. ROH is literally a storage locker filled with the entire collective AEW lower card that is not good enough to receive TV time. To compare them to Dark would just be mean.

It's a disjointed experience because it's just a bunch of garbage squash matches with no story between AEW jobbers and local enhancement. Seriously look up some of those cards on cagematch, it's the definition of grim

Technically they "compromised" since NWA is on the CW "back channel" so yes in some small capacity Billy Corgan receives very small residual checks from the CW but not nearly to the degree that NXT gets

Which is still more then MLW now basically being a Youtube show again since their show was kicked off Vice after 10 weeks.

You can trace the downfall of AEW right back to Tony buying RoH and splitting his time with trying to get it over.

It really confused the booking. Sorry Tone but there's nothing you can do to make me watch RoH. I think it was around this time that he kept getting AAA luchashitters all over his show too.

He was determined to get RoH on Saturdays in Collisions spot. Simple as. He thought by offering RoH that he'd curry favour with WBD. When they said "Why don't you use give us another AEW show because it's worth more as a brand" he briefly thought about branding RoH as AEW Ring of Honor, but settled on Collision as a holding pen for all his shitty talent that didn't want to work.

Honor Club also does not include the PPV's. So you're expected to pay money to watch weekly episodes of Dark with a different coat of paint. They could at lest go back to taping ROH at Universal Studios again to give it a different feel.

After buying ROH, they decided not to do what Vince did with WCW and instead let the titles keep their names and lineage rather than make bastardized versions of existing titles. The fact that ROH gets to keep living post purchase is pretty much the only real difference.

There’s nothing really egregious about their existence. if Collision was ROH instead I don’t think people would see much of a problem with the existence of these belts.
