He should have been a main eventer after Survivor Series 2014. They really really fucked up. Literally no reason as to why Cody is so beloved by HHH and Dolph was left off shows for months, leaving him no choice but to ask for his release. Dolph is the better wrestler, more chicks would fuck him, his voice isn’t the best, but it sure beats Cody’s lisp. Isn’t that the ideal wrestler for the most part? Guys wanna be you, chicks wanna fuck you, AND you’re good in the ring?

They never really liked him, not as a top guy and said his bumping cemented him as a jobber to the stars. They gave him the WHC run but due to getting kicked in the head and concussed they decided to end his push despite him not being at fault. Dolph's contract ran out in 2014 or 15, around there anyway and he decided to stay. He should have left, he'd have probably had the run Cody had but I can't blame him for staying for the easy and certain money.

They didn't write any good storylines for him. that's all there is to it, really. That little run he had from Summerslam 2016 to No Mercy was the only example I could think of. A babyface who can sell as well as he does should have been in more peril.

he modeled his selling after mr perfect. but henning never passed midcard level and bumped for all the big guys and only had a bad back to show for it. plus henning had a natural charisma and character, while dolph is a wanna be mr ass and hbk in appearance and talks like bob holly if he took hrt. he was never going to be the champ unless he could find his own character
