How do you expect a wrestler to "hang" in adlibbed promos when you don't even give them plenty of opportunities to practice it from the early training period of their careers onwards?
Cena came up in that early 2000s era, back when WWE still had their wrestlers regularly freestyling during promos while only sticking to bulletpoints. The more modern wrestlers aren't doing that, especially those who either started their careers in WWE, or started with just doing shitty indie shows where they probably didn't have to promo a lot
Then you wonder why Reigns freezes up against Cena, why Bayley goes "....that camera right there?" when put on the spot to adlib a promo, and why that Eli Cottonwood guy ended up looking stupid when told to do an adlib promo about fucking mustaches of all things
You can't get mad at these wrestlers for freezing up on TV when they were rarely/never trained to adlib by WWE
