I actually enjoyed it while it was happening but it feels like a fever dream in retrospect. Since nothing needed to be truly live it was more produced than usual. That led to segments of pure kino like the Alexa Bliss vs Randy Orton match.

It was bananas. Stone cold cutting Promos to no audience, crazy raw underground, the most batshit mania in history, AEW killing Huber and pretending like his unknown lung ailment wasn't covid (which they still pretend to this day). Lots of fumble fucking around and pity title runs like Big E and Lashley. It was crazy and the Cena/Fiend cinematic match was Matt hardy tier. Also teleporting Matt hardy.

It was hard to watch at first. Listening to a wrestling match without a crowd is beyond grim. The tHuNdErDoMe made things at the very least humorous since plenty of fans were clearly trying to troll. But anything that happened during that era doesn't feel like it counted at all.

It was a weird time. The shows were suffering but it was reassuring to have something new weekly. You could tell everyone was doing their best with what was possible. Drew doesn’t get enough respect for how hard he worked during the pandemic era. We saw some good shit come out of it, but there was a lot of dumb shit like Rey losing eye. It was fun to see them push shit to the limit since there was no audience though. Orton setting Bray on fire was kino. It also birthed Tribal Chief Roman.

It was an odd time because it was coming right after the worst year of WWE and an incredibly strong start for AEW. I guess you could say that it was when things started to change for wrestling as a whole, as Vince was very much being pushed to the side and Tony was starting to be more involved. The thunderdome concept was the oddest concept yo ever come out from that era. It ended up being so weird that it ended up becoming interesting, mainly because you wanted to see who was going to show a KKK meeting or a execution.ultimatly it was the start of WWE's re-rise and AEW's fall.
