What's weird to me is that AEW was never really good, so far at least, even it's peak was just mediocre, with past competitors like WCW, ECW or TNA I can confidently say they were all great sometimes and at some points definitely better than WWE was at the time, but with AEW it feels like it was never great on it's own or better for that matter. In hindsight it just all seems like wasted potential that never really materialized.
The idea of a brand new strong promotion with a big budget backing coming out of nowhere when the fed was in a slump and finally giving WWE some desperately needed competition was actualy better than anything AEW themselves ever put out.
