You're a dumb as fuck teen in the 2000s/late90s and you're told you can bring a sign and it probably won't get checked and you can show it on TV on live broadcast, of course you're going to want to do that, who wouldn't?
Even in wrestling events nowadays, if you start a chant and you get like 2 other people to join in and go back and forth, it isn't just one guy being annoying anymore, it's a chant or it's funny. If a group of people put up their signs, you're gonna put up your sign. If a bunch of them put theirs down, you're gonna put yours down.
