It's not easy to let it go when you enjoy it. It's like being a movie buff and recognizing that modern movies are almost all pure garbage. It doesn't mean you dislike movies.
I end up watching a lot of old wrestling, and finding wrestling I hadn't watched at the time. I missed TNA's boom period of the mid 2000s and I've been watching that, for example. Also I love rewatching old PPVs from the 80s and 90s. It's like rewatching a favorite movie.
It's hard to enjoy modern WWE when the storylines are such bullshit and they push shitters like Jey Uso though.

They won't because neither of them are stars. The reason people still talk about the stars from 25+ years ago is because they were pop culture icons. Even Bret Hart was an icon.
