It's fun when a guy comes in with clear momentum and is being pushed. You get to follow along with his rise and see where it goes. Same reason Cody's return worked so well, for the first time in a very, very long time someone new was getting pushed and people got the feeling he could make it and shit might actually matter. Families and kids came back to shows immediately.

Just about everyone making regular appearances is over right now, but they gave Penta a strong looking main roster debut in front of a crowd that appreciated his botchy shit. So enough people already watching Raw like him now.
That they also didn't bring him to developmental first was making a point that ex-AEW wouldn't necessarily be stuck in forward roll hell either if they're sick of fleecing the paki. Not a lot of them are as experienced as Penta or AJ, but it's clearly a statement.
