>>16953263I don't personally care about the Gawker stuff, the fact that he says nigger, the fact that he's on a constant promo cutting journey whenever he talks about his shoot life, his personal politics etc.
I do care about the fact that almost every single one of his colleagues who ever worked with him seems to have something negative to say about him as a person. Like we're talking literal dozens of people from completely diffent walks of life, throughout different decades, who got to personally know and closely work with him for even years in some cases, all pretty much coming to the same conclusion seperately, that he's a selfish cutthroat asshole of a guy who deserves everything he gets these days. At some point you can't just tune out and say there's nothing to any of it, that would be a plain rejection of reality, Hell even he's not rejecting this stuff, he justifies it by saying he was in it for himself, to make money regardless of what he had to do to accomplish that.
I still love the Hulkster as a wrestler but I firmly reject him as a person and I put a hard barrier between him as a wrestler and him as a person, I also don't blame anyone who's not willing to do the same.
His fall from grace has been the hardest to swallow, beyond just me personally being a big fan for decades, the Hulkster is in my opinion the biggest icon in all of pro wrestling to this day, and it's crazy that he's still alive in 2025. Ideally he should be an ambassador of the whole business, but instead he's something that even WWE officially sort of just acknowledges and tries not talk too much about, never mind the rest of the wrestling scene.
