the logical story brain tells me
>solo attacking cody makes perfect sense
>he was emasculated by roman and had the sacred chili peppers stolen from him
>he was emotional and stormed off like a bitch for a month
>jacob fatu was starting to spread his own legs and seeing white life in wwe was like not under solo
>solo is a seething controlling bitch so he had to come back and attack cody to win the title from him because roman doesn't have that and he wants to prove himself better than roman
>he also wants to be seen as a threat again

on the other hand the booker in me is like

>he's already feuded with cody
>this match is dimeless and obvious elimination chamber filler

Cody NEEDS Cena for Mania, his contenders have been very upper midcard. Retrospectively they should've pulled the Orton feud but they used SS to build Roman's return which even more so made Cody's title run seem backseat

2nd. No fan of Cody but the Samoans need a break from the storylines. There are too many people in this company, a problem since gaining WCW/ECW, and it continues to grow larger. Bra & Panties stuff was taken away to go from Divas to Women's division, but it hardly does anything either. Rhea is played out. Charlie is played out. Alexa isn't getting the title. Liz should have kept it for another 6 months to drop it at WM with an actual build up of someone new.

RAW was the show where they slow-shotted things and slowly built up new people, now that has paid off and they have tons of over people plus big names. Now they have to cold-shot and build on Smackdown because it's just Cody carrying the show, Rock is seemingly dodging their feud, and Roman is almost never there anymore.
