Instead, he disappeared to go be an extra in a the Von Erich movie, and it leaked that he re-signed a long term deal with AEW. Any intrigue and momentum he had was gone and he never got it back. The god awful Adam Cole/Devil mask bullshit just cemented the fact that MJF was no longer anything special. He still has plenty of time, but the spark is definitely gone and won’t be easy to get back.
