Sure. Maybe their matches were good. Won't matter because NJPW's booking is dire. Look at the immediate future. Goto vs Tana. Goto vs Nagata. Immediate hype for Goto followed by grief for shitty matches in the pipeline. We got this because NJPW fucked the booking for so long and pulled the trigger on Goto way, way too late much similar to Naito. Give it a month or two and people will be pushing NJPW to have Goto drop the belt to a younger guy. NJPW thrives when the matches are fast-paced and hard-hitting. Goto can't wrestle at that speed anyone even if he isn't Naito crippled or Tana crippled yet. The future is dire as hell especially throughout 2025.

As much as it's good to see him finally get the win, and for the crowd to be into it too, I'm not sure where they go from here. NJPWs downfall has been insane and they haven't built anyone else up in the last 5 years. At one point it looked like Sanada was next in line but the man is an absolute charisma vacuum and he came out at this show looking like a NFS Underground custom.
