They are too coward to do something cool like a proper tournament ladder for a belt a champ has vacated, because what if not enough people watch all the first rounds, what about muh storylines, we couldn't possibly write them to work in this company event, and we can't possibly have everyone interested in the same strap and facing off because we need to pretend ten different guys are all the strongest in kayfabe even though only the strap matters anyways
