They're really good, they can work with anyone and make the crowd care about the match. There's a reason Sting chose them over FTR to go out on. I think the difference between the Bucks and most other tag teams is that they literally know how to work big time matches and get everyone looking 10/10.

The Bucks are terrible on TV though. They did the All In Footage, they did the killing Tony Khan angle. Two missteps that AEW never recovered from. Jobbing to the Sting retirement milk tour doesn't make up for them producing awful TV.

2. Great team but desu, as a NXT mark, this is their correct spot even in a more sensible voting crowd because their last year is so front heavy with those really heavy hitting and notable matches and while they have good matches, they lack that 5% somewhere.

You are never going to get audiences to care about dedicated tag wrestling in 2025. It's pure boomer rasslin shit. The Bucks found a following because they were ironic and the act never had enough juice for 5 years of weekly television.
I'm not sure what people expect. It's a bad format to tell the kinds of stories that draw money in the current era. Boomers will jerk off about how the putting a tag match with stars in the weekly TV main event is a timeless formula but when Triple H tried that it just confused fans and made them feel ripped off. This is not counting the Bloodline bullshit which doesn't even need the matches to be over

I don't like the Bucks and got sick of them a long time ago and wouldn't miss them in AEW even a little bit if they left forever, but they actually did have better matches than anyone else on the list. Tag team wrestling feels dead right now. I'm not invested in any team at the moment but Tony needs to get a clue and strap a rocket to the Outrunners.

You have to be incredibly naive to assume that the Bucks aren't in Tony's ear 24/7. And even if they are totally exonerated and it was all Tony's idea, the angles they are involved in play a part in their ranking. You are ranking what they did last year and last year alone, and what they did last year was two angles that tanked the ratings.

If that was ever true it's not been true for a long time other than Sting's retirement match. They spent years having the same match with the Lucha Bros over and over again. All the FTR matches were forgettable and it was a wet fart when they put over Private Party and finally fucked off for half a year
