Every Japanese wrestling company should have:
>English commentary for every show
>English subtitles on video packages
>live translations of promos for live shows, and ideally subtitles for the promos on the replays

These things would not be hard to do, and would make it much more accessible for the American audience.

New Japan and Stardom are both prominent in America. Every wrestling fan is aware of them even if they don't watch them. With wrestling in a boom period, it makes sense to try and get more western subscribers.

I don't follow Stardom, but I did watch their Dream Queendom show from December, and I thought it was really excellent, but not knowing what they were saying was a bummer. Especially at the end after the main event.

I don't think wrestling need commentary at all, those are not DOTA matches. All commenters do here is annoying recaps, promoting future shows, and just being annoying. I can get adding those for highlight videos, but that's it.

I don't need English commentary, but it is helpful if I want to have the show on in the background. The TJPW match with the inflatable Panda vs magical girl was a great show with the WrestleUniverse commentary. The Battle in the Valley was a bit worse because the audio was about 5 seconds delayed to the action so you'd see a move and then hear it

I frankly don't understand how they don't at least have English subtitles for the video packages before matches. I mean there's English text all over Japan, they can't put some English subtitles in the videos so English speakers can understand what they're saying? I think like half of NJPW's subscriptions are from outside Japan. It's such a small thing that could make the show was more enjoyable for their foreign fans.

Yeah, it would make it so much easier to get into the matches if they just had English subtitles on those. And I've heard that New Japan actually does upload them with subtitles to YouTube, but nobody wants to do homework to watch wrestling. Just put them in the actual show.

I prefer TJPW without English commentary. You really don't need it at all for that promotion. You don't even need the Japanese commentary either, which is only on big shows. It just detracts from the match and changes the feel completely. But TJPW is special, it's not like the other promotions.

He's right though, they're annoying and unnecessary for the most part. for big shows and big matches they're fine and appropriate, but regular shows I don't need or want them.
