I've been saying since the Netflix deal was announced that they should just go full LU for Netflix as that is something people who aren't wrestling fans might actually watch. These niggas need to hire me. It's clear that NXT took inspiration from it with all the cinematic vignettes but they stopped relying on that recently and the show suffered for it imo. They needed to make a show about wrestling, not a wrestling show. I know they say that line a lot, but it's time to fully commit to the gimmick if they are so bent on "telling stories" and "making movies". The current format of RAW is pure casual-repellant so why not copy the greatest wrestling show of all time?

If that's true it would be fucking cool, and it might save Dragon Lee's career. WWE has enough great wrestlers under its roster that it can do wrestling with some different styles and flavors. There will always be WrestleMania, but NXT has an audience that really likes that particular show. Evolve, LU, this could be cool.

They're probably just buying it for the tape library. I can't imagine a WWE produced Lucha Underground would be any good. They tend to only have one production style, and probably wouldn't lean into the LU style that made the show unique.

Then again, who knows, maybe things are different now that Vince is gone. This just reminds me of how the WWE ECW Brand was supposed to have this grittier production style and look, and within like a month it was all scrapped and the show was no different than Raw or Smackdown.
