this is why he booked the most dogshit feud of the decade in rhea/liv to go on for as long as it did (and probably still will keep going til mania cause i think liv will win the chamber). and just fumbling that feud in general when it could have been a lot better and free money, but he did it in a way that everyone hated it. his booking of rhea in general is a sore spot for many but she is at least popular with marks that don’t watch wrestling so that could be his excuse.
look at how he booked chelsea in the rumble for another example of this. despite being a heel she got a gigapop upon entering. sneakily and underhandedly eliminates face b-fab, gets another gigapop, no boos. he has the heel point at the mania sign, gigapop brother. when she was getting beat down 4v1, crowd initially cheered but descended into boos quickly. he had her get 4v1’d again by the queenz this time and the crowd hated it and booed. when she got eliminated by piper and the queens, huge boos.
you could say he doesn’t have a good grasp on what fans want in general but i really think it’s exacerbated when it comes to the girls and belting up lyra was another extension of that.
