In terms of other culture , 2007-2009 was pretty cool. Even into 2010 though that's the next deacde. A lot of great games came out in that time frame. 4chan was supposedly a better place even though I didn't use it yet either. That was also around the start of the new TV "golden age" for dramas. Politically and economically though the 2008 economic crisis sucked. Looking back it just seems like a speed bump now compared to how fast the U.S. economy recovered and how bad it got during Covid.
