But the truth is, Hulk Hogan had been forced to sit out the rest of his contract by Mr. McMahon himself. So naturally that rules out the Hulkster. Rip and Hogan were old war buddies (both served in Vietnam with B.A. Baracus) and they had reunited while trying out for Metallica (Hogan got the bassist spot but turned it down). So Hogan got Rip to return to wrestling under the Mr. America disguise in order to stick it to Mr. McMahon.
