It's a retarded storyline. Cody's character has already sold out by becoming friends with the Rock after their feud last year, and we're supposed to act like that's just normal, and the announcers don't even call it out or anything and we're just supposed to accept it. 20 years ago JR would be interjecting every 5 seconds with outrage that Cody and Rock are all buddy buddy out of nowhere. When you stop to think about how decades ago the product was designed to be simple enough for preteens and hillbillies, and now it's become 50 times stupider, you realize just how terrible things have gotten.

"Immediately" as in Rock extended his friendship at the Netflix premier and Cody went a long with it. There was no story buildup. It was treated like a big joke. Because Rock was breaking kayfabe the entire time but everyone had to go along with it due to his position. It really revealed how narcissistic The Dwayne is. Everyone has to love him. Or else.
