2015 was the last post pg/network era where the ahield guys were on top and Cena etc were midcarders. This was when Cena still took his character seriously (until 2017 when he decided to be himself after roasting roman/shooting movies)

Id say this era really ended in 2016 when they had Aj beat Dean for the title on some backlash or something.2016 had its own kino but so did 2015.

Honestly I think a good name for 2013-2020 would be "The Network Era"

for specifically 2016-2018, idk. The thing about that era is i'm nostalgic for it not just in wrestling. But in life, I won't say why because it's kinda personal.

I remember watching it the day after (dont live in the states). Roman vs Brock was such a hyped up match, this was when Brock was a once every 4 month mythical being. Match was great. Lost my shit at Seth cashing in also, genuinely didnt expect them to do that. i guess that moment shut off the only Cena tier guys getting the title machine.

Network era ended when universal title got introduced. Thats when you got NXT guys beating roman and shit. And they completely changed the set, lighting etc and it no longer has the ruthless aggression style presentation that the PG era/network era still kind of had.

It was a great show, the go home tv ended with that comical image of Roman and Brock playing tug of war with the belt and everyone thought the match would be a disaster. Then the match starts and it’s Roman getting demolished, Brock getting busted open the hard way multiple times, and capped off with Seth cashing in.

I more so lumped 2013/14->2020 as network era simply because that was the network's lifespan (in america)

Still don't know what to really call 2016-2018, maybe the Takeover era? Since nxt was hot as fuck and I certainly enjoyed it more than main roster wwe at the time. And as you said that was when they "had nxt guys beat roman" so I guess a name like that would fit

You must be a fucking zoomer. This was garbage. WM30 was fun. 31 was shit. Sting/HHH and Bray/Taker were terrible. No one was really interested in Roman/Brock. Bryan was in a meaningless ladder match. Just a real wasteful time in WWE.

I pretty much just watched TNA on Spike regularly but tuned back in a little bit in 08-09 for Jeff Hardy, and then I'm out again as the gimmick guest hosts take their toll and things get very down syndrome awareness month. Summer of Punk almost gets me but then the pivot to Kevin Nash, Del Rio and Cunter, that was the end.

I'm fine with 2004-2006, for the most part. It's not great, hasn't aged particularly well but you get a reprieve from the HHH 17 minute cold open era when Cena moves to RAW, and SmackDown was still comfy. I liked Muhammed Hassan too, who was only around for that brief period. 2007-2011 truly was dire, can't comment on anything beyond that point.

I was a teenager in the mid 2000s and would watch SmackDown, eat pizza, smoke weed, and play SVR on my PSP before fapping to JAV and Vida Guerra pics before passing out at 2:30 in the morning.

That era was rough because it was the most egregious portion of the big dog era. Practically everything on the show had to revolve around him (he wasn't over) and Brock (he wasn't there, and people didn't even care because they thought he could only lose to Roman). A lot of wrestlers people were fond of got left to flounder because there was just no space for them.

Things picked up a lot after HHH vs. Roman happened because we got SmA+ckdown. Having a single world championship just doesn't work for WWE. We're still feeling the sting of all those retarded careers.

Not him, but I'm 27, grew up during the mid-to-late Ruthless Aggression/early PG Eras, and also a bit nostalgic for this specific period in time. Quit watching during the Raw's guest host era (seeing Al Sharpton on WWE TV was the last straw up until that point) and AJ debuting at the Rumble brought me back, so it had me hoping the quality would only get better from there. It didn't, at least not for years; I admit the only reason I have such a weird fondness for 2016-2017 WWE is because that was when I was rediscovering wrestling from other promotions as well plus I was active on an old wrestling Facebook group where we'd shoot the shit, make memes, and predict PPV's for in-group "championships".

Simpler times.
