>>17185498There are definately aew bots on reddit and across x, but pic related is the honest appeal of the promotion: Matches!
And i say that unironically and ironically...
In wwe, ideally, interesting characters are put in situations full of personal conflicts and the matches happen around those conflicts. Either to further them, or end them, or spin them into something else.
In aew, matches happen with wrestlers that can put together matches with almost no context or storyline to speak of. Theres just gonna be a match thats gonna try to be as good as it can be with the people in it. There will be no selling a leg injury cuz soneone was hit by a car on the go home show. There will be no holding back to save something for the blowoff match at the big ppv 7 months from now.
Thats not to say that aew doesnt try, or even that they should. But i check in on either aew or wwe at least once a month. And, like, of you dont like, or are sick of, the faggots wwe sees as stars --who are all measurabley better characters than anyone in aew-- then raw and smackdown are tough fucking watches.
I dont like seth, ko, sami, punk, drew, gunther, jimmy, tanga 1, tanga2, sikoa, knight, bron, braun, shorty g, or anyone underneath them in tags or whatever. Everything away from roman , who is never there, and cody who isnt losing anything away from mania, is a complete waste of attention. In ring and out. Theyre not allowed to be as over as they could get themselves.
In aew, anyone can and is booked against everyone, up and down the card, and the matches arent as formulaic and slow as the kind triple h wants to see. Every no-name jobber on the roster can get hot and get a push for bit and never be seen again.
It's not all good, but the chaos is goddamn refreshing.
