Age doesn't mean much, intentions do. If you aren't comfortable hanging around her family/friends, because you're an asshole or can't relax without alcohol or hate children/pets, it's probably not a good fit whether you're the same age or +10-15 years. If you both would rather live in an apartment, own less STUFF, and vacation all the time, then who cares about the age spread. If she lights up talking about hunting or fishing or hiking, and you're into all that, put a ring on it.
It's not worth dating someone your same age, who is incompatible, simply to avoid having people who aren't important asking questions that don't matter.
