These far left wing echo chamber environments and the chronically online people don't speak for the average gamer who spends all day at work and then comes home and plays videogames. Consider that 150k upvotes is a ridiculously popular post on Twitter whereas 150k sales is apocalypse territory for a big budget game. Now remember that not everyone who upvotes a post is a potential customer.
Every moment that you spend browsing Reddit is a moment not spent playing videogames. People who spend all of their free time on Reddit and Twitter and people who spend all of their free time playing videogames are different crowds. You CAN play videogames and listen to podcasts/youtube videos at the same time, and you'll notice that those spaces are significantly more right wing (and get more engagement).
