It's mostly the same as 2K23 (last one I played) but there's chain wrestling from 2k19, barrier dives and a new ladder minigame, plus the I-puncha-you-you-puncha-me minigame, it's fine so far, I havent ran into any major issues personally. I ran into a couple crashes in CAW mode and logo errors in create an arena, same as previous years.

The day two patch literally fixed every thing. This is the best 2k yet.
I can't believe how much I'm liking the Island, walking around a cheesy WWE theme park is one of the highlights of the game, the full 3d recreation of the Brutus Beefcake's Barber Shop is amazing.

Feels like 2K killed any buzz with the series. There was next to no hype around this game this year. Felt like it was announced, promoted, and released all within like 2 months. Used to feel like they'd take forever to come out with how much excitement there was around them. I usually feel a little bit of release day fomo since I've stopped bothering with them but nothing this year

Bard's First Take

- Gameplay is smooth. Very similar to last year, but feels great once you get a match going.

- Online I've played three matches. One crash, two no problems at all.

- No top of pod finishers in the Elimination Chamber?

- Models overall look VERY good. In-game is very different than even the best looking screenshots. Game looks good.

- Island is whatever. I'll be doing it for content on YouTube, but meh, kinda fun to walk around, but not much to do.

- New Zealand is very nice this time of year!

This is about two hours of playing, off to nap and will be back on in about 7 hours.

Is that how it is? I know the industry has gone to shit over the past decade. As far as these games go I just miss the days of the fall releases. They announce the game around Mania, they'd reveal the roster sometime around Summerslam/September and then you'd get places like IGN or them doing their own coverage and releasing an entrance/finisher video each day until they got through the roster and then they'd announce the DLC. Shit was hype as hell and if it was something you were into you'd be dying for the new game by the time it came out

They flipped the released date after 20 tanked.
They announce the game now at the Royal Rumble and release it around the Elimination Chamber which is better than releasing the game in the fall with all the sports games and AAA juggernauts.

yes, every 3 years is a pretty good benchmark for getting a new wwe game because they have expanded a ton by them. its still all the same modes but they have more features and more refined gameplay. gm mode in particular is massively expanded since 22
