I think that's why guys like Ambrose and Edge and Jericho are so comfortable doing bad work in AEW. They know it's not canon and WWE will take them back and rehab their image instantly no matter how terrible their work in AEW was

I think Mox and Cope actually do care and Jericho is probably on the best contract of his life, the problem is nobody really knows what they want AEW to be. I actually thought the main event was one of the better matches on the card. Not as good as the Omega match, but better than pretty much everything else. It seems like the audience at home and online have decided to reject guys like Cope because they've bought into the online talk that he's playing politics and he won't put people over but I personally can't think of a single match I'd have actually had him lose going back to his last WWE run. Like who cares he didn't put over Finn or Sheamus? He's a much bigger star and WWE don't do anything with those guys anyway. Maybe Tony just needs to give people what they want and do the E&C reunion and bring Darby vs Mox forward. Which I think will be a good match, but in terms of the Death Riders, they need to start doing more with it. Have some new recruits, bring back Danielson, literally anything. Shit is moving far too slow.

Feels more like Cope wants to do as much as he can to make up for the time he lost being sidelined for a decade. But he's also an Attitude Era relic, so for the casual audience he's an easy hook but for more diehard fans they do not want him anywhere near the top anymore. He's in a tough position since he's not a Dustin Rhodes or Big Show level talent where he can just put people over in the midcard forever. But you can't sit on him and waste the last years of his career.
