Austin needs someone that can take care of him while making him look good. Owens is the only one on the roster qualified. He's young-ish, incredibly safe, willing to job, can improvise if shit goes wrong and can cut a decent promo. If Austin came back for a match against any of those other guys they'd paralyze him

I don't get it, what's the issue?, sure it wasn't an amazing display of athleticism but it was a very good brawl and it had people hyped from beginning to end, no one expected it to be that good.

A point could be made that Austin didn't lose sure but, no one wanted to see him lose, not even KO, so this is a scenario in which he gets a pass even though he didn't put the other guy over. All in all a much better retirement than Angle, Undertaker, HBK, HHH, Flair and oh so many others that don't know when to stop.

Yeah this is Stone Cold we are talking about, one of the biggest superstars the wrestling world has ever created and deserves no less, and arguably this was the best style of main event you can have for night 1 too, a lot of hype without hurting the actual real main event in day 2.
