He was booked more as a really deliberate, slow mat wrestler in NOAH and got a lot of matches where his stamina and grappling skill made him hard to kill, while in NJPW he's booked as any other NEVER-division beefcake. Don't get me wrong, he's got the build for it, but I think he stood out more before.
I was also really hoping for him to start his own stable back in NJPW, especially after his talk about the "Super New Generation" and all that, so seeing him as the second/third/fourth man in TMDK is a shame. I still think he's good, I just wish he was booked in a way that showcased his talents more. The ZSJ match was more like it, so I hope he goes more down that path.
