I mean there's an obvious difference between tying someone to a giant version of the Undertaker's logo and then actually using a wooden cross and crown of thorns for sure. One's symbolic while the other is literally just crucifying a man. Truthfully though the Ministry would do way darker shit than that like by having the Undertaker slit his wrist, bleed into a cup, and have Mideon drink it. All of this shit was based though

These. Contrary to how it's portrayed, the issue wasn't the cross, but the crown of thorns. Plenty of plays or cartoons or other productions reference the Crucifixion with minimal issues, but they typically don't add the crown of thorns because that it the thing that makes it bad taste.
