Austin's turn just came at the wrong time because nobody wanted to boo him. But it makes a ton of sense when you consider he was out and Rock eclipsed him and then HHH beat him. I always though if he just stunned Vince, it could still work. I think it didn't take simply because he stayed patterned with Vince and turned to a bitch. Him keeping HHH close (so he wouldn't have to fight him) and fucking everyone up would've been better. We got some of that, but they insisted on having him be a bitch to Vince.
Nash and Hall have a lot to do with Hogan's turn desu. Hogan tried to make it lame as possible, but Hall and Nash did a lot to stop him. Look at the first paid advertisement and how fucking lame Hogan sounds vs the others where he's more aligned and cool.
>>17289840This as well. Piper coming in really let him heel it up and Hogan didn't want to lose, but losing actually got Hogan more over as a heel.
A lot of the 96 stuff is genuinely good and different, but you could see in '97 while the angle is hot, it slowly becomes more and more... wrestling bullshit if that makes sense.
