Don Callis once said that behind the scenes WWE and AEW are working together. At the end of the day both companies are owned and operated by masons. There's a reason why WWE has started to run NXT in smaller venues. It is to show fans that small venue wrestling is kino and fun as fuck. This is helping TNA and AEW sell out venues across the country. AEW is probably making more money now because it costs less to fill a 3000 seat arena than to put 4000 people into a 15,000 seat arena. AEW's very existence allows WWE to dodge claims of being a monopoly.

I have no trouble believing this, but I do have some questions historically speaking. During the federation days, when wrestling was all decentralised and had no prospect of being relevant outside the area of its promotion, why would masons care about it when in theory there would be so many more profitable and influential ventures?

It honestly depends on your Lodge's jurisdiction and what they dogmas they follow. From what I understand and have researched about the higher degrees, it is a sort of Luciferian Gnosticism. Then you have "off-shoots" of Masonry as well such as Aleister Crowley's Ordo Templi Orientis (which Aleister/Malakai Black was raised into) or Memphis-Misraim which is more in-tune with the mysticism and occult aspects. I believe they're all just different heads of the same snake. A majority of these actors and pro athletes who join only feel like they 'have' to in order to move up on the ladder, so to speak, and don't actually realize what they're getting into until they're in too deep. I know a lot of that may sound confusing but it truly is a mindfuck and there is no real objective answer I can lay out because all the different points and agendas cross over with one another

Sure, you can look at it that way. Of course that's not ALWAYS the case but Ithen you have stuff like Shawn vs Taker at Wrestlemania 25, which is probably the most Masonic-laced match ever. The entrances feature Shawn descending from above in white as a heel and you had Undertaker rising from the depths in black playing the face and going over. They love inversion

Of course, you will have those that say "It's just wrestling, it's not that deep!" yet there's constant references to "feeding off the energy of the crowd" and moments that do get you legitimately emotionally invested, which is the goal anyway

A lot of North American wrestlers come from Canada, America just happens to be where all North Americans gravitate to.
Mexico has always liked wrestling, you’d always see shitty wrestler action figures and tiny rings for them to play with.
As for Japan, I’m not sure. It’s said that wrestling has roots in carnival culture (hence the term “carny”) and carnivals have always been big in America and Mexico. Not sure where Japan got their wrestling from

That makes a lot of sense actually. In Mexico it’s more about the spectacle and the athleticism, and in America it’s more about the theatrics and the “heel/face” dynamic. In Japan it feels more like an actual sport

I was thinking about how the Undertaker was used in stories and I realized that it was always implied that babyfaces sold their soul in the WWF/E. Think about it. No matter how athletic you were, or how popular you were there was always a chance that a deadman could literally appear at any moment, bury you alive and take your soul. Katsuyori Shibata was a Japanese professional wrestler who suffered internal bleeding and swelling in his brain after delivering a brutal headbutt during a match in 2017. He underwent emergency surgery for a traumatic brain injury in which doctors at the University of Tokyo Hospital removed his brain and put it back in.

After the surgery, when Shibata finally woke up, he was barely able to speak. The doctors couldn't understand him at first, until they realized that Shibata only was able to speak English and French. When the doctors asked Shibata in English was his name was, he responded with "Chris." When the doctors asked what year it was, Shibata responded with "2007."

Shibata did recall that he was a professional wrestler and had been one since 1985. But Katsuyori Shibata was born in 1979, and only would have been five or six years old at the time. Doctors initially thought that Shibata was deeply confused as a side effect of the surgery. Until one of the interns noticed that a brain in the freezer, which they had intended to use for research, was missing.

The brain that went missing? It was labeled "Chris Benoit."
