>>17315772>>17316476>>17316463This is a meta-shoot angle that's critiquing entertainment as a whole. It's not a particularly good angle for a Wrestling show, it will go over everyone's head. For some reason the Rock feels the need to expose Hollywood and entertainment via the WWE main event.
The subtext here is that John Cena is a clearly aging man stuck in a childish gimmick because it's profitable. So he's had to suppress his true self for a decade while the fans treated him like shit for just doing his job well. Cena is like...the last big Vince project, and essentially the modern equivalent to Hulk Hogan. So it's another "Hero is dead" sort of thing happening.
But no one thinks this deeply about wrestling so yeah, shits ass.
