In the end, Matt won. Edge and Lita both got fucking injured and Matt went on to have an incredible second run of his career after. It took him a long time but he pulled himself right out of it. It inevitably led to the Broken Matt Hardy gimmick which gave TNA the eyes and attention it was looking for.
Edge wishes he was as creative as Matt. Any name he could have chosen and he came up with Cope. Jesus...you should also look at the drawing he submitted for his suggestion of the WWE redesign they were going to do for him for the Rated-R gimmick.
