I learned my lesson last year. Never buying one of these games again unless they get a whole new developer. First thing they should do is forget about the create a wrestler and focus on building a more fun system. Then they can focus on the rest later.

No, I don't think so unfortunately. Why would a gaming company go into a niche like wrestling without any rights to wrestling characters? WWE owns all the legends rights for the most part and obviously all the big current names.

The only chance we got for a decent wrestling game is if 2K gets rid of the contract with WWE which will likely never happen. Sports games are notoriously shit and recycled content with little effort that make decent money. Even MLB The Show, NHL 2k NBA 2K and Madden are all terrible garbage nowadays because retards will buy anything and there's no other option.

it worked for Wrestling Revolution/Empire and with FF's budget (at least 10 milly) if you are not retarded unlike Kenny Omega/Yuke's you could make something good with a nice creation suite, community creations and market it well
FIFA selling way more copies than PES didn't stop Konami from making those games and still earn a fuckton of money

The Showcase mode looks lame. I'm not playing through a whole ass campaign that pretends shitters like Rikishi, 3 Minute Warning, or Tamina Snuka are fucking legendary wrestlers. I know WWE gets shit for rewriting history, but this is the epitome of that nonsense. Nobody cared about this Samoa Bloodline shit before 5 years ago. This whole campaign is just pretending a bunch of jobbers and midcarders were actual draws based on who their cousins are.

That's why the whole storyline never made any fucking sense. Every Roman Reigns defense had Michael Cole giving all this hype about how Reigns is unstoppable and undefeatable, and every fucking match ended in interference or some kind of other cliche chicken shit bullshit. At least have the commentary point out he only ever wins by cheating, like every other heel champion reign. I know it's an overused term, but it just seemed like gaslighting at times.

Whenever I watch gameplay of the new games it looks like shit. None of the wrestlers have unique animations. Stone Cold is doing kicks like an indie shitter, it’s meant to be simulation but none of the gameplay actually replicates any of the tropes of wrestling. It’s shit.

Once I accepted this I stopped buying them every year like a mark. They barely change from year to year anyways so you're better off not buying them every YEAR. You'll probably age out of them eventually once you accept that EA / 2K will never deliver a game as good as the one the ones from the PS2 era again. The AAA gaming industry is headed into a collapse.

I got 2K24 with my ps plus subscription and had a really good time with it. But I have to admit it was only because it was "free" and the last one I played was 2K14 or 15. Looking at 2K25 now and it's pretty much the exact same as last year's game with a few notable differences. Even the roster is mostly the same people from last year. The gameplay itself is pretty shallow too and the shine wore off when I had played all the modes, tried all the match types and seen all the entrances. The whole thing comes down to memorising when to hit the reversal button.
