Literally what does Dave mean by this? He claims AEW is profitable and that it's not a secret, and is shocked that you wouldn't know it. How would anyone know that? AEW's financial information is not public. I am seriously trying to understand how his mind is working.

No real publication has any details of the deal whatsoever besides the very surface level details that people like Meltzer reported. I've researched it, there are no details out there that are confirmed.

That's not publicly available and you know that, but however much they're spending, it's millions and millions of dollars less than the $180 million a year they're making just from WBD alone, ie not counting PPVs/ticket sales/merch and all other revenue streams which increase their profitability. It would basically be impossible for AEW to cost $200 million per year to run. So, after years of being unprofitable, AEW is now making a profit.

You KNOW this, yet you keep sweatily insisting it might not be the case. Move on, find something else to do for the next few years.

Probably because AEW lost money every year for their first 5 years, only just got the new media rights deal last Fall, and it's short term meaning it'll be up for renegotiation in just a few short years. They're definitely making a profit right now with the half a billion $ from WBD but that's still a lot of red in their past and possibly less WBD money in the future. I think Tony was talking long-term with that path to profitability line. AEW will be around forever regardless because Shad's fortune will only continue to grow, but they've only been "profitable" for a few months now. These next few years are critical to AEW's future profitability.

It's not just Fight Forever. Tony sank millions into creating AEW Games as its own company that shits out awful mobile games and slot machine apps. They thought Fight Forever launching was finally going to turn AEW Games around, but when FF bombed they just doubled down on more awful mobile games.

AEW is not profitable but they're taking steps to cut costs and get closer - steps like renting smaller arenas and taping Collision on Wednesday/Thursday. sure but I have to wonder their associated costs as well. Travel, production, bloated roster, renting large arenas and having poor to mediocre ticket sales at almost all events for years (recently downsized finally because presumably it was costing them too much), probably $100+ million for a video game nobody bought, etc
add everything up and I'd imagine AEW is still in the red overall, but currently I could believe that they might actually be making a profit for this year alone. Still would guess that from the start to now though that Tony hasn't actually made the money he put in back. If Fight Forever never happened and they didn't run arenas several times too large for years than maybe.
