They have 3-4 different stage setups now, they probably didn't have the space for the tunnels.

Ngl I'm liking the more unique venues. They've also been doing better with their camera work lately, more crowd shots and less hyper focus on the 90° angles with the crowd at the back because they funnelled everyone in to a tiny part of the venue to make it look full.

That early Dick Riders run was weird as fuck as their gimmick of running through the crowd was always filmed really weirdly

Wrestling used to be held in places like this DESU. That camera shot shows how comfy it is. I'd rather watch a show in place like this where I can see everything than to be in a bigger building where I can't see shit. AEW should still be able to fill bigger buildings in bigger markets and for PPV's. Honestly if 6 years ago I told you that AEW is company that can draw 1000-3000 people nationwide every week for Dynamite and around 10,000 people for PPVs that would be considered a success. TNA never did the kind of business AEW does.

2025 AEW is on the right path and it coincides with a period where they've become more HUMBLE. They've cut back to 4 hours of TV, they're signing more IWC darlings (Speedball, Alexander) instead of WWE also-rans (Miro, Keith Lee), they're working toward multiple PPV builds at once, they're letting guys like Ricochet develop more personality instead of just doing matches. AEW is firing on all cylinders right now, even if the metrics aren't showing it yet.

Sure I agree that it's better to go for a smaller place that makes it look packed but you're missing the point on why they're actually doing it, it's not because the guy who spends hundreds of thousands of dollars to license songs for a one time use is concerned about making smart business decisions.
The ticket sales dropping is the main reason why they're running shows in these buildings and why everyone was taking the piss out of AEW, you could literally see the ramp becoming shorter and shorter from show to show and now there isn't even one lmao.

This could easily be Raw/Smackdown if there were a bit more room for a longer entrance way. Those shows have done venues of this sort of size before. A (nearly) packed theater like this looks better than a half empty arena.

You're not wrong, I was trying to throw AEW a bone. Short/No ramp means PPVs in arenas will look even cooler when the long walkway returns. AEW, if they quite literally concentrate - cut the dead weight, focus on strengths, stop getting pulled into BS - can become distilled greatness again like it was early on

Once AEW stops catering to who the fans SAY they'll spend money on, and they start pushing the acts fans are ACTUALLY spending money on, we'll see that feeling get restored. Until then, pandering to assholes who use VPNs and shitpost on Twitter, it's not going to lead anywhere. Never cater to people who are as enthusiastic as they are unproductive.
