vince commodified wrestling and he didn't know the reason ECW was succesful at all was because it was an anti thesis to WCW and WWE. Making himself the champion was the sort of heat that made people apathetic not the sort of heat that draws viewers.

Same thing with Big Dog roman reign's push and a gazillion other things he fumbled. It's outstanding just how little he understood from the viewer's perspective
