Mina Shirakawa vs. Maika officially kicked off an emotional next few months in the world of Joshi.
While I've never had an emotional connection to either of these wrestlers, I can and have always appreciated them at the top of their games and the emotions this brought out for each of them. This was Shirakawa back in her White Belt era, truly putting everything she had into this performance, with the emotions always apparent. Maika was the ideal dance partner for her final big singles match in Japan, considering all the history these two have as both rivals and together.
The big final kickout for Mina after the Michinoku, Himeka's Running Powerbomb, and another Michinoku was tremendous -- especially as the crowd cheered her name before Maika put an end to it once and for all.
The match really was great on all levels, capturing the feeling you want for Mina's farewell. Add in Himeka and Natsupoi on the commentary and this was just an overall home run from everyone involved.
She may have one match left in STARDOM, but this did feel like the perfect farewell for Mina as she embarks on her newest challenge and journey.
