Yeah I found my two old The Corre shirts while moving recently. Wore one to the gym for a laugh and the guy working the front desk was like "hey cool shirt man!" and I was like "th-thanks bro" and it turns out it was Justin Gabriel. He asked if I wanted a pic and I politely declined

Barrett attached himself to this shit to give the guys he came through with the best chance of making it and it probably gave Slater enough time to save his career. CM Punk on the other hand stole Barrett's successful faction and buried them to start Punk's big run. Then there was going to be a Nexus revival with Bryan as leader during the covid era but Bryan left because he had to take a loss to Roman. Now Cena has attached himself to Rock instead of helping others get over. Barrett was always the face.

i have a hard time dating exactly when i stopped watching wrestling because it happened gradually but it sure as fuck was before this shit was created because i remember thinking ezekiel jackson was a badass and wanted him to get a push. Then i remember seeing shit about the corre and not caring about it at all and that was when i realized i officially stopped giving a fuck about wrestling

I'm not sure what the plan actually was. I'd guess the actual goal of the revival was to protect some guys from budget cuts. Slater and Rusev are the two I'd guess being in with maybe a couple of NXT guys as well.
