>>17421285the last wrestlemania that was 1 day was wrestlemania 35 (2019). including the preshow matches and festivities and such, it was 16 matches and ran for 7 and a half hours. the longest PPV WWE ever produced. this was also the last wrestlemania that was pre-covid and the last one in which HHH was an active wrestler in.
they started splitting them into two nights after this for, in their words, consideration of the fans' time. in reality, this was done for profit, so they could spread the event out over two nights and fill the arena twice while gouging ticket prices. wrestlemania was the only event like this until this year, now summerslam is going to 2 nights as well - the rumble is likely to follow in future years.
when vince got KWABBED and HHH took over, he never reverted the change. in fact, HHH has gone the opposite route and has been slimming down card sizes a lot, he generally tends to cap cards at 5-6 matches, which has upset a lot of people. so he could do a 1 night wrestlemania again because he wants to keep the card lean. but he won't. so we're going to get 2 nights of wrestlemania that could be squeezed into one night probably.
