Alcoholic spinster Shida makes me sad. I kinda feel like Corona derailed her whole life. Before Corona she was headlining Makai, and working a nice schedule of freelance joshi work. AEW came along and she got a chance to get a little side hustle going that paid way better, but it always felt like Makai was her main focus as it was a bridge from wrestling into theater and film. Corona pretty much put Makai on power-saver mode and the only thing Makai did was run a bunch of random video skits to progress background stories and give the backup dancers and musicians a chance to practice their skills. When the Corona shit finally ended Makai rebooted and Shida's main character wasn't adapted to the new story. Combine that with Shida's bookings trickling off to a dribble and it just seems like all her plans in life evaporated.
