I get that. The point I'm making though is that the 2 year deal they signed her to was likely an entry level one where she already wasn't making huge money. If WWE is already set to make her a big offer as far as money goes, not to mention every other upside that WWE offers which could make her even more money, then would signing with WWE really still just be another case of it being the mark contract? In this case, I don't think it would be. Either way she's going to be making more money. Giving up everything else WWE can offer just to keep doing more of the same in AEW solely because of money would be taking the sellout contract since she'd be giving up goals for nothing more than money. In either case it seems WWE is up to play the bidding game and might match whatever offer Tony makes

Maybe not. And I get the concept of the mark contract. Vaquer is a great example since yeah AEW was offering her big money and WWE threw her a shitty offer that she took just because it's WWE. But if WWE can off Mariah significant money as it sounds like they're ready to then I don't think that's a fair comparison to the Stephanie situation. Also AEW has capped themselves inadvertently too. I don't see them offering her Mercedes level money because even Mercedes hasn't been worth the money they're paying Mercedes. So now that baseline exists. Even if you wanted to argue that Mariah has been more valuable to AEW than Mercedes, which I don't think is unfair, I don't think Mercedes would be happy if they paid Mariah more than her either. Since that'd blow her entire shtick. So they can only even offer so much themselves if you get what I'm saying. It'll be interesting. Of all the people who have come up as potentially being in this position her name was not one I expected to be the one that had the big bidding war over it. So good for her

Jade and Mariah aren't the same though. I can get the hangups they had with Jade in wanting to get her ready in ring wise. She's a one trick pony in just about every facet. Mariah on the other hand you could sign and put on tv in your main event and put the world title on all in the same night and she would be ready to go as is for every part of it. Throw her into a story. Not unlike what they just did with Giulia and Vaquer on Monday. Get the ball rolling on something that'll have a weekly reason to it. Don't just debut her as 'the new signing.' Because yeah then after the first week or two that steam snuffs out quick. Penta is a good example there. He's just kinda 'there' now. Mariah's a personality more than anything though. Let her talk. Let her interrupt someone big. Set up any sort of feud within the first few weeks and I don't see anything to worry about there

I don't hate it. It's done quite a bit these days but the Batista story could be a good one for her. They had the right idea with pairing her up with Bianca because it let her get experience with minimum time in the ring to expose her shortcomings. But she still doesn't come across ready enough to stand on her own. They've referenced that match on tv with Toni since and they've specifically not mentioned her name. Time goes to where they want it you know? They have 3 hours. If they want to feature someone or give a feud some time then they can trim some matches down by a few minutes. God knows today's WWE more than ever has so much time that they aren't utilizing anyway. There's 6 hours between Raw and Smackdown. If they can't fit one more feud on either show then that's a time management issue. That aside if they're offering Mariah what it sounds like they are then clearly she's someone they'll want to have on anyway. So I don't think it'll be a case of making time for her as much as it's going to be someone else losing their time to her

This. The way WWE talks about Randy where 'if you could build a superstar from the ground up.' That's essentially Mariah on the women's side of things. Even though she's in AEW she's already perfectly cut for WWE. Her mindset towards wrestling is ironically the antithesis of what AEW is about. She's big on storytelling and emotion and couldn't care less about moves or 20 minute matches even though she's plenty capable of that too. I might not have been clear on my point there. Toni was the babyface and had everything to gain from the feud and story with Mariah since it was entirely crafted to get the Timeless persona over. Yeah it lifted Mariah up a ton too, but the heel in a story like that is never the one people attach the credit to. Look at Cena and Edge for example. The truth of it is neither of them particularly carried and they both needed exactly each other for it to have the chemistry it did and for it to have been the success that it was. To say 'she carried' as some kind of flex though is as ridiculous as saying Roman carried the Bloodline angle. No shit. It was an angle entirely about him. Just like the Toni and Mariah story was entirely about Toni. Even Mariah's title reign while Storm was gone from AEW for months was still about Toni with Mariah doing her finish and having that all be a sub section of their overall story altogether
