A good match is one that looks believable such that the crowd can have suspension of disbelief and get emotionally invested in the match. Same with any performance btw including film, theater, etc. Bruno clearly did that for his era. Look at how the crowds are going crazy for BRUNO, not because they want to see a wild spot and don't care who does it or who takes it. Most modern wrestlers work what appears to be a gymnastics exhibition with pre-planned, and obviously cooperative sequences, which don't look convincing at all. Fans don't get invested in the match as a result. They just pop for spots they think look cool.

Anon, please don't be retarded. Learn a little about wrestling history. High fliers and acrobatics still existed even back in the 60s and 70s. Edouard Carpentier even debuted back in the 50s! Bruno was over as FUCK because he was seen as a real man and he knew how to work a believable wrestling match and tell a story while doing so that got the crowd behind him.

The Baba matches are mostly old fashioned NWA limb work stuff that I enjoy and Bruno discussing with the ref that Baba's big chop should be illegal before the match starts. The Billy Graham match is great more for the crowd than the match itself, pretty stock stuff for Bruno at that point in his career. There being a significant portion of the crowd that was cheering for Superstar really showed the direction the industry was heading.
