GCW really went downhill so fucking hard once covid happened
right after Run Rickey Run happened with Gage vs RSP, I think Gage got hurt, and then they just leaned into the fag shit, started pushing Jordan fucking Oliver to the main event, stopped having many deathmatches. Most of the shows are borderline unwatchable at this point.

Observer readers have never been the biggest on death matches but Onita was voted best babyface and most charismatic for a reason. He was like the super beloved tough cool guy that Moxley wishes be could be. He and FMW wouldn't have worked as well though if he had been brand new to Japan then, as he already had an aura built up around him from a regular wrestling career and "martial arts", but his charisma was part of that also.
