Shit, don't do the death match stuff if you don't want to get hurt.
It was part of what made the Omega/Moxley exploding ring match so bad. They just pussyfooted around trying not to get hurt.
Ever watch Japs have a death match? They lean into that shit, blood fucking flowing everywhere. You can't LARP as a badass, you either be one or get the fuck out of the ring.

Not generally.
They often have backstage interviews after shows (the wrestlers get interviewed after their matches). Sometimes shit happens there. Sometimes there will be talking after a match in the ring.
That isn't to say that there isn't storytelling, it's just usually told in the ring. Also the bigger companies do have English commentary for big shows (and New Japan has them for every show).
