I watched some of KotR 2001 a couple weeks back. I had to stop about halfway through for reasons but in that time I saw seven matches, three of which were KotR semi-finals and finals, and three angles ran throughout the show (Angle vs Shane, DDP vs Taker and Austin's partnership with Vince). There was still downtime but they were mostly for the angles but sure, some shilling too. It flowed so much better than current WWE. Everything feels so dragged out nowadays.
