First of all, WWE is sending wrestlers to NOAH and Marigold, and they feature TNA wrestlers on their programming almost weekly. But even besides the companies that WWE partners with, Michael Cole will mention New Japan on commentary when it's appropriate and has mentioned Shinsuke's IWGP championship reigns. I've never heard WWE fans say they hate NJPW or CMLL even if they aren't interested in watching these shows themselves. The hate that AEW receives isn't because it's not WWE. It's because it's AEW.

This is the worst argument to me since whenever I bring up that happened on the indies a decade ago no AEW fans has any idea what Im talking about. When was the last time someone made a thread to discuss beer city bruiser or colby corino? I've never seen anybody discussing noam dar's progress run. I already watched all this stuff and I decided I didn't care for it but the AEW fans still think they are better than me.

At this point you might as well just watch the PPVs for new stuff, most of the weekly shows are trash desu. Besides there are like 500 recap vids online or on the shows if you want to see what's going on without wasting 2-3 hours.

I have watched wrestling outside WWE, and it's precisely why I know to avoid AEW. I've watched PWG and Chikara and how laughably bad those shows are. I've seen the heatless ROH bangers. I've seen the Bucks' and OC's lame gimmicks for years. I've seen what is raved about on the indie scene and know to pretty much just avoid it.
For a while I could stick with, like, MLW, but so few of you poser faggots actually watched that. You just hatewatch WWE and jerk off to AEW.

Moronic take. Let's say you support Man United. Do you only watch their games or do you catch as many football matches as you can due to a love of the sport? If you're only watching Man u games then you have no real business talking football. You're a man u fan, not a football fan and very likely have no idea what you're talking about. I support a PL team but I watch games from the lower leagues and games from Italy, Spain and Germany. Simply because I love football. There's also usually a lot more excitement and passion in the 'lower leagues' too. Like ECW in 95 or indie wrestling in 03-05. I couldn't imagine calling myself a wrestling fan and only watching WWE because that shit is boring and doing nothing right now to remind me why I care about this business.

Rare situation where they both have good points in this argument. Like yeah, there is far more to the world of pro-wrestling than WWE, but I ain't gonna go out of my way to watch 20+ hours of every major international promotion weekly.
I regularly watch WWE and AEW but if an indy promotion is having a free livestream show I may occasionally check it out. Every once in a while I watch TNA and what I've seen of NJPW I like, it's just on real late in NA and I only watch it through pirate streams (though NJPW World is a great deal at $10 a month).
