Not sure, but on a similar note, I think mobile phones also didn't do it any favors.
The flashes from cameras going off added a level of aura that just isn't possible anymore.

They don't though, and I'm not even sure the flash on these things is as powerful as the ones on those old time cameras
Those rapid fire camera flashes told you serious shit was going down in a way that nothing today can quite capture.
