A lot of us grew up watching the Attitude and Ruthless Aggression Eras, so we know what a good male wrestler should look like. We remember Austin, The Rock, Angle, Michaels, Jericho. We had big guys with aura like Kane and Undertaker. We had the golden age of Smackdown. We have a measurable set of standards we can look to and compare. We have nothing like that for women cause we grew watching women be eye candy, which was awesome, don't get me wrong, but Vince and Steph killed that and women were forced into actually being good at wrestling to keep their jobs (don't look too closely at Charlotte). Because of that we really don't have the same sort of measuring stick so the women in western wrestling seem impressive when they're serious about wrestling.
