Remember how everyone used to say that Cody Rhodes didn't fit in to AEW and still felt like a WWE guy? Well that's what's going on with Gunther now but in reverse.

He's an S tier in ring talent and they know that so they push him to an extent, but they never let him actually do what makes him an S tier talent in the first place. Casual fans are never going to like him because he's "too boring" and doesn't do gay meme catchphrases. He should have went to AEW where he actually would have been appreciated and booked like a beast.

He's been phoning it in since winning the title, which was a godawful reign but it's probably not his fault since they never gave him any decent opponents. He had so much potential in 2023 when he was holding the IC title. Shame how Haitch fumbled him

He did. He buried Jey Uso in multiple interviews during the build to WM and was obviously unhappy he had to put that shitter over and tap out in seconds.

Honestly, his wrestlemania program with jey and his stuff with priest was bad (he did his best to salvage it and was the highlight of both of those feuds) but he's in a great spot now imo.
he's in an interesting position between jey and seth where he could be a tweener depending on what they need. i loved his stuff with mcaffee which was better than it had any right to be.
